She tells her bosses about the problem, and they tell her to shut up.

So Eleanor is fully aware that things are off kilter when election night comes and the comedian wins over his established Democrat and Republican opponents. She again tells her bosses the results are off; they again tell her to stuff it. But this time, they also start a cover-up operation.
